Evidentiary Standard

The KudiKeep Unboxing Video Protocol

The single mandatory evidentiary standard for physical goods dispute resolution in Nigerian social commerce. Built to eliminate "What I ordered vs What I got" and fraudulent returns.

Why This Rule Exists

Fair Protection for Both Honest Buyers and Sellers

In Nigerian peer-to-peer commerce (WhatsApp, Instagram, Jiji, X), standard photos can easily be staged or manipulated. A buyer could open a genuine iPhone, replace it with a replica, and take a photo claiming "the seller sent me a fake." Conversely, a dishonest vendor could claim "I sent the exact item" after posting an empty carton.

The KudiKeep Rule: A continuous, uncut unboxing video provides undeniable, timestamped proof of exactly what was inside the parcel the moment it was opened. If a dispute is filed without this continuous video, KudiKeep arbitration rules in favor of the seller.

The 4 Mandatory Video Requirements

Follow these exact steps when receiving high-value packages, electronics, or fashion items.

01Protocol

Show the Sealed Parcel (360° View)

Start recording before any tape is slit or seal is broken. Rotate the carton or polymailer in front of the camera to prove all 6 sides are intact and have not been pre-opened or resealed.

Do NOT begin recording after opening the box.
02Protocol

Film the Waybill Label Clearly

Hold the camera close to the courier shipping label (GIG Logistics, DHL, Speedaf, Peace Mass Transit, or local dispatch receipt). Ensure the tracking code, sender's business name, and recipient details are sharp and legible.

Label must match the escrow deal details.
03Protocol

Uncut, Single-Take Recording

Maintain continuous recording without cuts, pauses, camera handoffs, or switching between mobile apps. Both of your hands and the parcel must stay inside the camera viewfinder until the contents are fully revealed.

Edited or spliced videos are automatically disqualified.
04Protocol

Immediate Power & Serial Verification

For electronic gadgets (smartphones, laptops, tablets), power on the device on camera immediately. Show the screen powering on, and display the IMEI or serial number in Settings or on the chassis.

Crucial for iPhone battery health and iCloud check.

Common Questions on Unboxing

Does the dispatch rider or courier have to wait while I open the box?

No, the rider does not need to wait. Giving your 4-digit Delivery Code at the gate only confirms physical handover of the sealed package—it does NOT release your money to the seller. Once you receive the package and give the code, your inspection window (3h, 12h, 24h) begins. You can take the package inside, set up your camera comfortably, and record your unboxing video before breaking any seal.

How do I submit the video if I need to raise a dispute?

When you click "Raise Dispute" on your deal page, you will be prompted to submit your reason and upload the video. If the video file is large, you can paste a private Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox link, or send it directly to KudiKeep's verified WhatsApp dispute desk.

What if the package arrived visibly smashed or leaking from the outside?

Start recording before accepting the package from the courier. Show the outer damage and waybill slip on camera. If the damage is severe, you may refuse the package, immediately notify the seller on KudiKeep, and escalate to arbitration.
